WHO ARE THE STIGMATINE SISTERS?

The congregation was founded by Anna Maria Fiorelli Lapini (1809-1860) who, after being widowed in 1842, decided to become a Franciscan tertiary and began to welcome into her home some girls, daughters of poor farmers from the surroundings of Florence, and to dedicate herself to their education.

1988 - the Missionary Sisters of Childhood

In 1908, to meet the need to provide work for mothers through knitting activities and to care for and educate their children in the Christian faith, the Sacro Cuore kindergarten was established at the initiative of the parish priest of San Venanzio, Don Gaetano Pasquini. It was funded by the wealthiest families of San Venanzio and San Vincenzo and built along the Riolo river.

From 1908 to 1981 the knitting activity and the education of the children were entrusted to the Poor Daughters of the Sacred Stigmata of St. Francis of Assisi, commonly known as Stigmatine Sisters.

In 1988 Don Andrea Astori joyfully welcomed the arrival of the Missionary Sisters of Childhood in the management of the Sacred Heart kindergarten.

WHO ARE THE MISSIONARY SISTERS OF CHILDHOOD?

The Institute was founded in Pesaro in 1951 by Mother Flora Pallotta, who fulfilled her vocation of love towards children by dedicating herself to their education and the development of their potential. In particular, the work was created to respond to a need for charity towards the numerous refugee children from Istria and Dalmatia in the immediate post-war period.

Mission

f985924a-ad01-4f56-b6d9-a3550a97a94b

Preschool contributes to the education and the affective, psychomotor, cognitive, moral, religious, and social development of children by promoting their potential for relationships, autonomy, creativity, and learning, and aims to ensure real equality of educational opportunities.

With respect for the educational role of parents, it contributes to the integral formation of children and, in its autonomy and didactic and pedagogical unity, ensures educational continuity with the nursery and primary school.

The aim of our projects is to stimulate and promote a different expressive opportunity to convey emotions, moods, and personal experiences, within a child-friendly play environment.
